Four Ways to Wear a Lilac Jacket

Hi there,

Word on the internet is that lilac is one of the “colors of the season” this year, and while I don’t usually plan my wardrobe around trends, I do really love this one.

Lilac is my all-time favorite color (something my late grandma and I had in common 💜) and I’m super excited to see different pieces in this color popping up everywhere.

I’ll do a future post with all of my favorites, but I couldn’t wait to share this new faux leather jacket I found on Amazon. It’s the Levi’s brand so it’s great quality, and is eligible for Prime shipping so it got delivered two days after I ordered.

I have quite a few leather/faux leather jackets and really enjoy styling them with different outfits. Here are four fun ones I came up with to show off my new lilac jacket!

1. Classy and Chic

I started off by pairing this jacket with some black high-waisted jeans that have a rip detail on both knees. I tucked a lace-trimmed black cami into them and then added my pretty lilac accents.

I love how well these heels match the jacket (I’ve had them for a while because I love the color) and how much the all-black outfit makes them both pop. Since the jacket is slightly cropped, I prefer high-waisted bottoms with it.

2. A Bit of Added Edge

These faux leather shorts are another recent Amazon find. I was unsure at first whether faux leather would work for the top AND bottom of an outfit, but I think this look makes a really great case for it.

I have the same lace cami tucked into these high-waisted shorts, and finished off the look with some heeled combat boots. I really like edgy and alternative style, so I think this one does a good job of adding in some of those elements.

3. Cute and Casual

Even though it’s still very wintery in New Jersey, I’m getting myself prepped for spring with some warmer-weather outfits. For this one, I’ve kept the same cami and jacket but added high-waisted denim shorts and some cute purple Nike sneakers.

These shorts are a “mom” fit, so they give me extra leg room and are an easy fit. The sneakers are also very comfortable, so you can feel good and look good in this more dressed-down look.

4. Dressed Up

I definitely wanted to see how this jacket would look over a dress, and of course I chose a black one. This basic dress hugs the body and has long sleeves, which. like because you get a little black peeking out of the jacket sleeves.

I added some classic black booties to complete the look. I really like how easy this one is to throw on and go, while still providing a bit more of a dressed-up look.

And there you have it! Comment below to let me know which of these four styles you’d wear, or if you have other outfit ideas for this jacket!

As I mentioned above, I’ll share more of my lilac favorites soon. I already have a couple of orders coming that include pieces in this pretty shade of purple. 😉
